About

Fun, Furry Animal Petting in Shirebrook

Willow Tree Farm is a welcoming, local community farm in Shirebrook run entirely by volunteers. Visit us with your family and enjoy a range of action-packed farming activities from pony grooming to pig and chicken feeding, sheep shearing, animal petting and a walk through our noisy aviary! Tickets are affordable and we have regular exciting events and occasions the whole family will love.

Who We Are

Willow Tree Farm is run and managed by volunteers from the local Shirebrook community. It is our goal to provide the community and local low-income families the chance to experience life on a busy farm, and enjoy the educational benefits of animal petting, care and outdoor work and recreational play.

It's operated by a group of volunteer managing directors who manage our daily operations and work tirelessly to improve the educational activities and skills platforms the organisation offers. All directors conduct this free of charge and do not receive any salary or expenses for their work.

What We Do

When we're not mucking out the horses, feeding the pigs or grooming and caring for our beloved farm animals, we're happily managing our facilities and organising events for visitors and the wider community:

Volunteers – We work with local unemployed agencies to help long term unemployed individuals gain some work experience and promote and support them in further employment.

Community Based Work – We offer the facilities to local groups and organisations for meetings, training and other such events. We also continue to provide community event days thought-out the year to help support community cohesion and social inclusion.

Recreational facilities – Willow Tree Family Farm are constantly looking at ways to improve the recreational activities within the community though all means of sports and leisure games. We believe within free play and a safe play to test boundaries and achieve success. We aim to promote a healthier living within the community and children and support them to engage in many outdoor and indoor activities which will aid positive health and development.
